Château Norbert
Côtes de Bourg (Bordeaux)

The Estate
The owners of the cooperative practice organic farming and hand select fruit that is at optimum ripeness which means the vineyard is harvested using multiple passes through the vines. Located in the city of Tauriac, the Cave Cooperative de Bourg-Tauriac is very customer oriented. In fact, every year, during our annual "Tour de France", we visit this estate and taste several tank samples, from several parcels, from several grape varietals, making our own "assemblage" (blend). The grape growers are paid depending on the weight of the grapes, but also depending on their quality, maturity, potential alcohol, pH or acidity and the quality of the skin. They are lowering their yield using the "green harvest" and high quality pruning techniques. Instead of being quantity oriented, they are quality oriented, which means that they will do their best, every year, to produce the best grapes, because they know that better fruit makes better wine.

The Vineyard
The vineyard is located in the Côtes de Bourg, on the right bank of the Gironde River, which is a panorama of vine-covered hilly terrain that sweeps toward the river with the occasional ancient fortress resting at the rivers edge. It's planted to Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.
