Maison de Lamartine

The Estate
Alphonse de Lamartine was a French poet and a politician (1790-1869). His ancestors developped a large wine estate in the 17th century. The house was built in 1705 and the future poet will spend his childhood and his youth there – following later the family tradition of wine making. Lamartine earned a lot of money thanks to his poetry but was soon affected by financial difficulties and sold his property in 1861 to the Sornay family who is still producing wine from the original vineyard areas.

The fruits
The fruits come from Burgundy and are chosen with care to obtain the best result. The liqueurs are made exclusively from regional fruits selected for their excellent flavor. The fruits are macerated in neutral alcohol for 1 to 6 months before straining, pressing and filtering. Then, sugar is added to produce a liqueur ready for bottling.
