2005 compares with 2002 or 1999.
A wide nose that showcases a tight core of red fruit. Good
length. A rather feminine wine. - The Burgundy report
"This rich red has cherry, pepper, raspberry and
sandalwood flavors married to well-integrated acidity and
tannins, which are a bit beefy on the finish. But needs time.
Best from 2013 through 2022. 800 cases made." –BS,

A subtle and complex nose. A sweet and delicate mouthfeel. Very
nice wine. Black fruit aromas. Dense, good concentration. Good
length and well integrated oak.
"Soft-spoken Thierry Mortet (brother of the late Denis
Mortet) runs a small domaine turning out softly-satisfying,
user-friendly Pinots that in 2005 – even allowing for recent
bottling. That said, his
2005 Gevrey-Chambertin Vigne Belle offers attractive jellied
strawberry and cherry aromas, a gentle, subtly creamy,
fruit-filled palate with underlying notes of salt, chalk and
iodine, and achieves precisely the sort of softness, elegance
and delicacy that Mortet desires to project."
