The Estate
The Marcato family has been making wine since the end of the 1800's. Young Enrico Marcato represents the fifth generation of his family to make wine at the winery, located in the middle of the Alpone Valley, in the town of Roncà close to the town of Montecchia di Crosara, on the hill named Duello.

The Vineyard
The estate spreads over 60 hectares (148.2 acres), 50 ha (123.5 acres) of which are planted with vines. 
The vineyards in Roncà, Montecchia di Crosara, Monteforte d’Alpone and Soave are planted to Garganega, Trebbiano di Soave, Durella, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The hills of Sarego and Grancona in the Berici hills are planted to Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Tocai Rosso.

2007 Marcato, La Giareta, Pinot Grigio 12/750ml
This wine is sourced from a 45-hectare vineyard planted to 8,000 vines per hectare, located in the hills of Sarego, on the borders of Brendola (20 kilometers from Vincenza). The soil is typically red and white with abundant chalk and clay with a kind of rocky soil and small layer of earth at an altitude of 250-300 meters, enjoying warm windy days and cool nights during the growing season.
Made from 100% Pinot Grigio, the wine shows a medium yellow color. Ripe fruits aromas, peach, apricot notes and roasted almonds. Pefect match to pasta dishes, hors d'oeuvre, fish and all light food.

2007 Marcato, Soave, Le Barche 12/750ml
Made from 80% Garganega, 12% Trebbiano di Soave and 8% Chardonnay. The grapes come from the Cru Monte Tenda which gives a ripe character to the wine.
"Le Barche" is located on the hills between the villages of Soave and Monteforte d’Alpone in the heart of the Soave Classico area, 20 km east of Verone and 25 west of Vicenza.
The lands derive from a Volcano with chalky elements and basalt at an elevation of 200-250 meters above sea level, enjoying warm days and cool nights during the growing season.
Vinification: 6 hours of skin contact in a CO2 atmosphere, and then fermented at 15 C in stainless steel tanks with 15% of malolactic fermentation done; ageing on the lees for 5 months.

Medium yellow color, delicate bouquet with notes of exotic fruits, peach and flowers. Pleasant smooth taste, velvety aftertaste with some touch of white fruit flavors. Pairs well with pasta dishes, horse d'oeuvre, fish, fruits and peanuts.

2005 Marcato, Soave, I Prandi 12/750ml
Their vineyard parcel called I Prandi covers 6 ha (14.82 acres) and is located in volcanic soil on the North slope of the Lessini mountains, in the Alpone Valley. The region of production is called Soave Colli Scaligeri.
The wine is made of 75% Garganega, 10% Trebbiano di Soave, 20% Chardonnay. Medium straw yellow with greenish hints. Bouquet of flowers and white zesty fruits. Delicate and lively on the palate with white fruits flavors.

2001 Marcato, Recioto di Soave, Il Duello 12/375ml
Il Duello vineyard covers one hectare (2.47 acres) in the hearts of the Soave Colli Scaligeri area
This is a special natural sweet sparkling wine that is not produced every year due to a climate reason. The grapes must be have an outstanding quality to be dried in wood cases. During this period until the last week of January some phenomenon can occur like botrytis or usually a loss of 50% or more in weight of the whole bunches.
The wine is made of 100% Garganega. Late Harvest wine.
Strong straw yellow color. Complex of aromas of acacia, almond, white flowers and exotic fruit.
Intense palate with a sweet, fresh and persistent finish, and a balanced oaky taste.
Perfect companion to strongly flavored cheeses, dried fruits,  nuts and rich desserts.

The grapes are sourced from the I Prandi vineyard within the Lessini DOC. This sweet wine is produced only during the best vintages with high quality grapes.
Made of 100% Durella, the wine has been aged for 2 years in barrique.  Very amber brown color. Complex aromas of caramel, orange blossom and marmalade with layers of ripe apricot, acacia and nuts.
Ideal with strongly flavored aged cheeses, nuts and desserts.

Produced from the grapes sourced from the I Prandi vineyard within the Lessini DOC.
Made of 85% Durella, 10% Pinot Noir, 5% Chardonnay
Vinification: soft pressing with cool fermentation and 100% malolactic fermentation then blended and bottled  for secondary fermentation. 
Straw yellow color. Complex citrus, acacia and honey aromas. Medium palate with light exotic fruit flavors, a good balance and a mineral acidity.
Perfect with fish and seafood.
