Guillon-Painturaud
Cognac

This Cognac originates from the Guillon Painturaud family farm located in Briard (Segonzac). The family has been living there since 1610 where Grandfather, Father and Daughter have been carefully crafting artisanal Eaux de Vie from one generation after the other. They started selling the family’s cognac under their own name in the early 1970’s instead of selling in bulk to the big houses.
Daughter Line Guillon Painturaud is now running the family business.

The grapes are harvested from the family’s vineyard of over 18 hectares of Ugni Blanc, all in one plot, from the Premier Cru of Cognac known as the Grande Champagne area, which is recognized for bringing delicacy and powerful aromas to the Cognac that are produced.  The calcareous soil and the climate give the Grande Champagne`s Spirits a great ageing potential.
The juice obtained from pressing the grapes was fermented into wine which was then distilled twice and aged in oak barrels (from the Limousin and Troncais forests in France).

"Excellent Buy!”
**** / Highly recommended

"Medium amber/straw color; some sediment seen. Comes out swinging with ripe yellow fruit, light baking spice, and candied walnut aromas. No wallflower, the tropical fruit note becomes orchard fruit, which emerges as the dominant aroma as the acute fruitiness takes over and won't let go; nice. Entry is keenly fruity apples, pears) and ripe, as well as spicy (cinnamon); midpalate is terrifically scrumptious, apple-like, baked, pastry-like, and crisp. Finishes intensely spiced and apple tart-like.
