The Vineyard
This 15 hectares (37 acres) vineyard is divided into 3 parcels in Sancerre and 16 parcels in Pouilly:
- 9.5 hectares: Pouilly-Fumé, on limestone soils and kimmeridgian marls (oyster shells fossils)
- 0.5 hectares: Pouilly-sur-Loire
- 4 hectares:Sancerre, "Les Blancs Gateaux", on limestone and silicious soils.
Annick Tinel focuses on the quality of the vineyard to obtain the optimum maturity of the grapes. She combines the use of modern techniques (pneumatic press, thermo-regulator, etc) with traditional vinfication methods to give richness and aromatic complexity to the wines.

2007 Pouilly-Fumé, "L'arrêt Buffatte", Domaine Tinel-Blondelet
#F1EE179001SBS
UPC code: 7 84585 00010 4
Complex aromas of white flowers, peach and passion fruit. Crisp, bright and mineral. Elegance and finesse.
Excellent with seafood, fish, chicken.

"Arrêt Buffate" is the name of a rest area located  in the ancient Roman road between Clermont-Ferrand and Paris, where people with horses would stop and have a rest. The vineyards are located on a south facing coteau overlooking the Loire River and planted on a kimmeridgian marls (oyster shells fossils) based soil. The vines are 35 years old in average.

"
Light yellow-gold. Reticent but fresh nose hints at green apple, white flowers and talc. Juicy and tight, with refreshing acidity and a distinctly saline, stony character to the citrus and orchard fruit flavors. A grown-up, dry and energetic wine that finishes with good cut and spicy persistence. "

"Winemaker Annick Tinel produces this wine from the 35 year-old vines on a south-facing vineyard of Kimmeridgian marl overlooking the Loire. Medium straw in color, the bouquet shows chalky minerals and ripe pear aromas. There are flavors of pear and ripe apple with a hint of pungency on the palate, and the finish shows a leafy note."
