The grapes here are coming from a 2-hectare single vineyard, grown organically, with a distinctive stony soil (it is an old quarry).
Looking for the highest harmony with the environment, Burgo Viejo produced this red cherry colored wine with violet shades. Structured and fruity, it offers aromas of blackberry and subtle spice. Full-bodied, fresh and well-balanced with smooth and velvety tannins.
Red meat, pasta dishes, Spanish tapas, medium matured cheeses.
"Aromas of macerated plums and red fruits. The palate brings grainy tannins and a leathery, savory twist. Finishes well. "

"Bright cherry red in the glass, this wine has aromas of blackberry preserves and orange blossom. Flavors of pomegranate and cranberry are joined by delicate tannins and notes of orange zest, roast grape tomato, fennel and dark chocolate. - Mike DESIMONE."

"If you were to macerate strawberries and rose petals, you might get something that smells like this wine. Add new oak to that, as well as graciano’s edgy acidity, and you get a bright, intense red wine desperately seeking morcilla."

"(aged in stainless steel and concrete) Vivid ruby. Spice-accented red and blue fruit scents are complemented by hints of candied licorice and cracked pepper. Offers concentrated bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors, along with a smoky mineral undertone that adds nervy lift and cut. Picks up a floral pastille quality on the energetic finish, which features fine-grained tannins and repeating florality. - Josh Raynolds"

"(aged in new and used American oak barrels for a year) Lurid ruby. A vibrant, perfumed nose displays fresh red and dark berry and pipe tobacco scents, along with hints of vanilla and cola. Supple and broad on entry, then tighter in the midpalate, offering intense raspberry liqueur and spicecake flavors and a hint of candied rose. Supple, even tannins build slowly on the clinging finish, which leaves behind a sweet red fruit note. - Josh Raynolds"

Sweet and broad on the palate, offering plush blackberry and cherry-vanilla flavors that are given spine by juicy acidity. Rich and fleshy in style, delivering solid closing thrust, good persistence and slow-building, harmonious tannins. - Josh Raynolds"

"The 100% Graciano cuvée, the 2014 Graciano shows more structure and an elegant, bluer-fruit style, with high, lifted and fragrant notes of spring flowers, black cherry and blackberry. It is soft, stylish, lush and interesting. Drink it over the next several years."
