Côte-Rôtie, La Viallière, Domaine Joël Champet 12/750ml
A
bit atypical with darker color, richer blackberry fruit, and
higher alcohol than normal. This vin de garde style of wine
tastes great now; it’s true potential needs 5-7 years of
cellaring to be revealed.
"An elegant, stylish, deep ruby/purple-colored 2003 Côte Rôtie La Viallière
exhibiting sweet, broad, raspberry and black currant fruit intertwined with hints
of peaches and apricots. Dense and chewy, this low acid effort possesses
excellent texture, moderately high alcohol (probably around 14%), and
a long, concentrated, supple finish. It should drink well for 10-12 years."

"Dark red with a bright rim. Pungent peppery
spices and a note of rose accent ripe cherry and red plum
aromas. A sweet, smoky midweight, with intense, chewy plum and
cherry flavors complicated by nuances of cedar and hot
asphalt. Finishes reasonably firm, but the tannins are on the
soft side."
