Gruntled Pumpkin is the perfect beer to accompany the highly anticipated cooler weather and the beginning of another football season.
This beer is a well balanced blend of both pumpkin and spices that will take your taste buds on a trip to your grandmother's kitchen right as she pulls a freshly baked pumpkin pie out of the oven. 11 lbs of pumpkin per barrel of beer. Enjoy our new Fall seasonal, kick back, and GET GRUNTLED!
Aspect: Pours a clear copper/golden color with a small straw-colored head that dissipates quickly leaving behind a very thin film and ring. Almost no lacing left behind but fairly good legs.
Smell: Really nice aroma that isn't too spicy or too pumpkiny. A bit of cinnamon and nutmeg and a decent amount of pumpkin that smells like it has both roasted and fresh pumpkin in it. A bit of an earthiness in the background, too, which is reminiscent of being in a pumpkin patch.
Taste: Pumpkin up front with a touch of booze and then the spices kick in lightly afterward. Much like the taste, the pumpkin and spices vie against one another to be dominant, but they are really pretty well balanced.
Mouthfeel: Pretty light bodied with an ample amount of carbonation. Slightly drying at the finish.
Drinkability: Pretty well balanced and tasty for the style. Not overly spicy and not overly pumpkiny, which was a pleasant surprise. Just a slight hint of booze, but overall, very easy to put down. A really nice effort and a tasty treat.
