Domaine Corne Loup
France - Rhone Valley

In 1966, the Lafond family purchased 3 hectares in Tavel. They initially sold the production to a cooperative, but soon began selling wine under their own label. Today, Jacques Lafond runs the winery with help from his daughter & winemaker, Géraldine Saunier. Their annual production is around 20,000 9-liter cases.
The name "Corne Loup" is the name given to this part of the Tavel Village, where, in olden times, someone would blow the horn (“corne”) in order to warn others of a sighting of a wolf (“loup”) coming into town.

Domaine Corne Loup is located in Tavel, fairly close to their cousins at Domaine de la Mordorée. They produce Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Clairette, Grenache Noir, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, and Mourvedre. Their vineyards cover 42 hectares - 25 hectares in Tavel and the rest split between Lirac (10ha of Lirac Red + 0.5 ha of Lirac White) and Cotes du Rhone (5.5ha of CDR red + 1ha of CDR white).
