The Nuna vineyard (3,150 ft. elevation) in Agrelo is Chakana's first Demeter certified organic vineyard. Nuna means "soul" in Quechua.
The wine captures the efforts to express the identity of the soils and the people of the land. The field blend of international white varieties offers intense aromas of pineapple, honeysuckle, peach and apricot. Medium-bodied with fleshy mouthfeel and excellent purity.
"Always unwooded, Gabriel Bloise’s organic cuvée of mostly Sauvignon Blanc with Chardonnay and a splash of Viognier is supple and attractive, with notes of white flowers, honey and grapefruit. Appealingly priced, too. 2018-21"

"This unoaked Agrelo blend combines mostly Sauvignon Blanc with lesser amounts of Chardonnay and Viognier. White peach, lemon and grapefruit flavours combine to good effect here with a refreshing, limestone-like tang. 2017-19"

"The other wines under the Chakana umbrella include the 2014 Nuna Estate, an intriguing white blend of 40% Chardonnay, 40% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Viognier. I like the sound of that blend, and the result is a very serviceable, exotic, fruit-driven white with notes of fig, honeysuckle, peach and lychee. It is medium-bodied, fruity and seemingly unoaked, or at least minimal oak was used in its making."
