2011 Domaine du Clos de Sixte Lirac Rouge - 89 PTS - WE

"While this may not be the strongest Clos de Sixte the Jaume family has made, it's still a very good effort. The red fruit aromas and flavors seem slightly confectionary, but carry enough pie-cherry flavors to see them through, backed by hints of dark chocolate. The tannins are supple, turning to a cocoa-powder texture on the crisp finish. Drink now–2018. — Joe Czerwinski"

Wine Advocate 90 PtsMade from 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre "The same blend and elevage as the 2012, the Grand Veneur 2011 Lirac Clos de Sixte offers up similar black cherry, leather and ground herb qualities as well as a medium-bodied, textured and easy-drinking profile on the palate. It scores high on drinkability and also offers solid complexity. Drink it over the coming 4-5 years. Drink now-2019. -JD"

2012 Domaine du Clos de Sixte Lirac Rouge - 90-92 PTS - WA

wa300"Even richer, the Grand Veneur 2012 Lirac Clos de Sixte is comprised of 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre that’s aged 16 months in 30% small barrels. It exhibits ripe, voluptuous notes of blackberry, licorice, underbrush and hints of minerality in a full-bodied, rich and textured profile. Drink it over the coming 7-8 years. Drink now-2022. -JD"

2013 Domaine du Clos de Sixte Lirac Rouge - 90 pts - WA

wa300"The 2013 Lirac Clos de Sixte is smokin’ good, especially given it’s from the 2013 vintage. Deep ruby/purple in color, with lots of cassis, black raspberry, licorice, toasted spice and a touch of graphite, it ismedium to full-bodied, pure, elegant and layered, with high quality tannin. It’s flat out outstanding and will have 10-12 years of overall longevity. - Jeb Dunnuck"
