james suckling hq logo plain"This has very impressive poise and power in 2017 with flowers, wild herbs, ripe red plums and cherries, delivered in a fresh mode. The tannins are so juicy and long. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold."

"While the nose is smoky and restrained, this plummy, pristinely fruity red offers loads of sun-kissed black cherry and plum flavors edged by a stony, mineral undertone. A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, it's an immediately approachable but elegant wine. The finish lingers on fine, feathery tannins. - ANNA LEE C. IIJIMA"

jeb dunnuck logo 250"Similarly colored, the 2018 Vacqueyras Château Mazane offers a more focused, firm, structured style. While I normally prefer the Grande Garrigue cuvée, this might be a step up in 2018, and it certainly shows more structure and length. A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre, brought up in tanks and barrels, it’s going to be one of the gems in 2018."

2018 Chateau Mazane Vacqueyras Rouge - 92 PTS - JD

jeb dunnuck logo 250"Based on 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and the rest Mourvèdre, the 2018 Vacqueyras Chateau Mazane shows a slightly more modern vibe (it’s aged in tank and barrel) in its rocking red and blue fruits, graphite, smoked earth, and peppery garrigue aromas and flavors. With medium to full-bodied richness, a round, supple mouthfeel, and plenty of underlying structure, it’s a seriously good 2018 Vacqueyras that will have 8-10 years of ultimate longevity."

2019 Chateau Mazane Vacqueyras Rouge - 93 PTS - JD

jeb dunnuck logo 250I loved the 2019 Vacqueyras Château Mazane. This ripe, sexy, full-bodied powerhouse has loads of darker berry fruits as well as notes of Provençal garrigue, sandalwood, and spice. With moderate acidity, wonderful tannins, and a great finish, it’s one heck of a great value. Drink it over the coming decade. The blend is 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and the rest Mourvèdre."

james suckling hq logo plain"A stunning wine for this often underrated appellation. Complex nose of laurel, wild thyme and rosemary, underlined by forest berries. Then comes an impressive interplay of fine tannins and mineral freshness on the well-structured and concentrated palate. Long and uplifting, herbal finish. Drink or hold."

2020 Chateau Mazane Vacqueyras Rouge - 92 PTS - JD

jeb dunnuck logo 250"The 2020 Vacqueyras Château Mazane is terrific and well worth seeking out. Based on 60% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and the rest Mourvèdre, this medium-bodied, supple, elegant Vacqueyras has lots of red and black fruits, complex notes of peppery garrigue, sandalwood, and spice, polished tannins, and a great finish. Drink this beauty over the coming 7-8 years or so."
