Cantina Villafranca
Italy - Lazio

The Gasperini family has been producing wine in the prestigious DOC’s of Frascati, Marino and Colli Albani since the early 20th century. Founded in 1909 by Salvatore Gasperini, Cantina Villafranca combines the traditions handed down for generations with modern technology to achieve high quality production.

Cantina Villafranca has 50 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards benefit from the volcanis soils, giving the wines body and exceptional minerality. The vineyards are planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Malvasia Puntinata, Bombino and Grechetto for white wines, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Montepulciano and Sangiovese for red wines.

The winery covers three estates:

  • Cantina Villafranca headquarters in Albano Laziale in Colli Albani. The surrounding vineyards cover 20 hectares; this area is the sources of single vineyard wines as well as DOC Castelli Romani wines.
  • Falcognana estate, located in DOC Marino amongst 16 hectares and situated near the historic Sanctuary of Divine Love.
  • Frascati estate where the famous Cannellino is produced; the Frascati DOC and the prestigious Frascati Superiore DOCG.
