The village of Rully is situated in the Côtes Châlonnaise, northwest of Chalon-sur-Saône. The climat (vineyard site) "Les Grésigny" is located south of the village.
A subsoil of clay and limestone is covered by a very stony top soil. The vineyards are south/southwest-facing and are 230-300 meters above sea level. The vines are worked using sustainable viticulture, and yield is 55 hectoliters / hectare.
Light straw yellow color. The freshness of citrus fruits blends perfectly with fine woody aromas of brioche and custard. Together they form a charming bouquet that follows through to the palate. A nice mineral tension ensures length and elegance. A rich, ripe and full white Chardonnay with plenty of character and finesse. Balanced and elegant.
Marries perfectly with tender meat, freshwater fish, saltwater fish in white sauce, hot shellfish, poultry in a beautiful creamy sauce (eg stew) and frog legs. It can also be drunk as an aperitif. Hard cheeses: Comté, Beaufort, Emmental and more.
"Here's a Rully with a lot of personality, its fragrant depths of flavor bringing lemony richness to savory, pale earth tones. The alcohol is a little outsized, needing a chill to bring it in line and point up the vivid flavors."

"This is an angular chardonnay with lime-green flavors and chalky acidity that feels layered into the fruit. It’s fresh, ready to bring youthful energy to a roast chicken."
