Château Bellevue was founded in 1998, with its oldest origins dating to the 1960's. The project is aided by Château Cheval Blanc's former enologist, Gilles Pauquet. Reserve wines are produced when the vintage merits; most recently in 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2006. Production: 380 hectolitres (4,222 cases), 95% Claret Rouge and 5% Claret Rosé.

Catherine and Michel Lydoire have been passionate about the wine world for many years. Then they decided to embark on this beautiful adventure in 1998 by founding the property. To access the estate you have to ride a little while in the middle of a diverse landscape to find it. Between vines and forests, when getting there you will understand why the winery is called Bellevue. ("nice view").
Their daughter Céline joined the family estate 10 years ago.

Varietals Produced: Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Winemaker: Céline Loste-Lydoire, helped by her father Michel Lydoire and guided by Thomas Duclos and Gilles Pauquet (Château Cheval Blanc's former enologist).
The 12 hectares (30 acres) of vineyards are 40 year old vines, planted to Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Yield: 40 hectolitres/hectare. Hillside Clay and Limestone soil.
They are committed to an environmentally friendly agriculture (Grade 2) and wish to move quickly to a certification High Environmental Value. This consists of reflecting all the actions performed on the soil and the vine during the year. This approach allows them to constantly question themselves and rely on the convictions while adapting to technologies and the environment.
They produce wines that look like them and that they like: simple and generous or complex and elegant. They make every vintage reflect their commitment and passion.
The Estate is certified level 2 by AREA for their consistant efforts toward sustainability.
The Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is aged in French Oak barrels for 12 months.
