Otaviano Bodega & Viñedos is dedicated to the production of high quality wines through careful work in the vineyard and precised viticulture techniques, with the sole objective of achieving different wines, honest and expressive that emphasize truly their origin.
Otaviano is located in the highest area of Alto Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, 300 meters south of the International Route N ° 7 at kilometer 8. In the center of the property is the winery, with a breathtaking view towards the Andes Mountains to enjoy the best sunsets of the province.
The bodega was born in 2004, when 5 friends passionate about wine and Argentina decided to enter the world of wine choosing Alto Agrelo Luján de Cuyo "Tierra del Malbec", one of the most elegant and distinguished terroirs for Argentine reds.
The winery is a modern building that was built with traditional materials from the area. It is located at the foothils of the Andes Mountain and surrounded by the vineyards.
The winery includes a fermentation and conservation facility in stainless steel with cold-hot temperature control, a cellar and underground storage room, conditioned for aging in oak barrels and stowage for bottles where the wines end up maturing.
The wines are produced from the vineyard, doing a differentiated work by sector according to the varietal and the wine line, where the load of the vineyard is regulated to achieve the perfect balance of the plant and obtain wines that express the maximum potential of the terroir.
In the winery the grapes are carefully cut using traditional and cutting-edge techniques, while maintaining full control of all the variables of the process and preserving and enhancing the quality of the wines. These are characterized by being frank and expressive, achieving a perfect balance between the fruit of each varietal and the oak aging, showing a sincere expression of the terroir of Alto Agrelo.
The vineyards are located at 1,050 meters above sea level, at the foothills of the Andes Mountain, where the thermal amplitudes and excellent insolation allow optimal and balanced maturation. Varietal selections adapted to the terroir are used, with deep soils and sandy loam. All of this is combined with the management of the crops under concepts and methodologies of work of viticulture of precision taking care of the environment and low impact on agrochemicals. The harvests are manual, using boxes of 18 Kg, and picking when the grapes reach optimum maturity.
