jeb dunnuck logo 250"The base Tavel is the 2018 Tavel La Dame Rousse, which slightly lighter colored than the Reine Des Bois, with notes of ripe cherries, white flowers, peach, and honeysuckle. Elegant, seamless, and beautifully balanced, it doesn't have the power of the top cuvée yet has integrated acidity and a great finish. Rosé doesn’t get much better."

i winereview logo"Medium pink rose. Made from 40 year old vines cultivated biodynamically, this is classic Tavel with alluring scents of red cherry skin and ripe, sun-drenched raspberry. A crisp attack introduces the medium weight palate with lovely, fresh dark red plum and berries complemented by spice and savory notes. Finishes very long. A blend of 60% Grenache, 10% Cinsuat, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre, 5% Clairette, and 5% Bourboulenc. Consistently one of our favorite Tavels.”

Ripe but fresh red-cherry and raspberry flavors are nuanced by hints of bramble, dried garrigue and earth. This refreshing yet penetrating wine should drink well through 2020. - ANNA LEE C. IIJIMA”

wa90"Crushed stone, lime and strawberries aromas appear on the nose of the 2017 Tavel La Dame Rousse. Plump and medium-bodied, it shows excellent concentration and admirable persistence on the finish. I've had better vintages of this wine, but it's remarkably consistent from year to year. - Joe Czerwinski"

wine and spirits logo 250"Textbook Tavel, this is a meaty, generously flavored rosé with lots of stony mineral flavor to support the red fruit. Based on grenache from 40-year-old vines and blended with a host of local varieties, the wine seems to grow in size and complexity with air, herbal notes and grapefruit acidity adding lift and freshness. It’s hearty enough to pair with seafood sausages; delicate enough to drink on its own."

jeb dunnuck logo 250"Always one of my favorite Rosés in just about every vintage, the 2016 Tavel La Dame Rousse smells like basket of freshly picked strawberries and raspberries. It shows the richer side of the vintage, yet is clean, crisp and refreshing, with bright acidity. Hat’s off to this estate for consistently delivering one of finest Rosés in the world, year in, year out. - Jeb Dunnuck"

2014 Domaine de la Mordorée Tavel Rosé La Dame Rousse - 93 PTS - WA

"wa93Truthfully, I think the 2014 Tavel La Dame Rousse is every bit as profound as the more expensive Reine des Bois cuvee, and the entry level Cotes du Rhone rosé, while made in a slightly more fresh style, is just as good as well. Sporting similar notes of framboise, orange blossom, white flowers and strawberries, it's a bigger, rich release that might lack a touch of the finesse and elegance found in the Reine des Bois, yet makes up for it with fabulous intensity, depth and length, while still staying clean, classy and pure. It's an incredible, full-bodied, beautiful rosé that's not for those looking for simple and quaffable. - Jeb Dunnuck"
