Trione Pinot Noir River Road Ranch
Trione
United States - California - Russian River Valley

Fresh tilled earth, clean, rich and inviting are all terms used to describe the Trione Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. This wine is a walk through a medieval forest, dark but with layer upon layer of blackberry compote. Complex and ever changing in the glass, this wine will age gracefully for the next 5-7 years.

Specifications

Vinification
Traditional techniques such as open top fermentations and hand plunging the cap during primary fermentation were implemented. To accentuate the fruit component, twenty percent of the grapes were added whole cluster to the bottom of the fermenter. The cuvee or blend is a mix of clones from Russian River Ranch. The clones chosen were UCD37, Pommard, 115, and 777. Each clone brings to the blend its own distinct characteristics. UCD37 is bold and full bodied, Pommard is rich and aromatic, Clone 115 tends to be more fruit forward with good color and the 777 adds pronounced Pinot Noir aroma, good color and a very silky texture to the blend.
Aged 15 months in 60% French and 40% American oak barrels (40% new)

jeb dunnuck logo 250"I loved the nose on the 2016 Pinot Noir River Road Ranch. This is a complex, nuanced Pinot Noir with plenty of spiced red fruits as well as subtle bay leaf, bouquet garni, spice, and new leather aromas a and flavors. With a very Côte de Beaune-like vibe, drink this medium-bodied, elegant, incredible satisfying Pinot Noir over the coming 7-8 years."

wa90"Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir River Road Ranch opens with notes of crushed black cherries, mulberries and raspberry tart with a wonderfully spicy undercurrent of cinnamon toast and allspice notions. Medium to full-bodied, it gives a lovely savory character in the mouth with soft tannins and background acid, finishing with all those spices coming through. 1,269 cases produced."
