"A fruity and plummy wine with just a hint of strawberry jam. Full body. Velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. Dense and layered. Some may find it a little heavy, but it’s lively. Drink now." - James Suckling (July 2019), 90 pts
"(raised in stainless steel and concrete tanks) Deep, bright-rimmed ruby. Energetic and intensely fruity on the nose and in the mouth, displaying fresh strawberry and boysenberry qualities and a hint of spiciness. Juicy and seamless in texture, showing good clarity and a touch of warmth on the supple, tannin-free finish, which leaves a jammy red berry note behind.- Josh Raynolds" - Antonio Galloni's Vinous (February 2019), 89 pts
"Brilliant ruby. Spice-accented dark berry and floral aromas are complemented by hints of cola and vanilla. Sweet, seamless and broad in the mouth, offering warm black raspberry and cherry compote flavors and a jolt of black pepper. Finishes smooth and gently sweet, the gentle tannins folding quickly into the lingering fruit. - Josh Raynolds" - Antonio Galloni's Vinous (May 2017), 88 pts
"Deep ruby. Aromas of fresh red fruits and pungent flowers take on a hint of allspice with aeration. Juicy, energetic and focused on the palate, offering bitter cherry and raspberry flavors given lift and spine by tangy acidity. Shows a touch of darker fruits on the nicely persistent finish, which leaves behind bitter cherry and cassis notes. - Josh Raynolds" - Antonio Galloni's Vinous (May 2017), 89 pts
"These wines are from the same producer as the Palacio del Burgo offerings reviewed later in this report, and, for my taste, seem almost identical to those wines. The 2013 Tinto reveals delicious, ripe, savory, black cherry and blackcurrant fruit intermixed with notions of tobacco leaf, spice box, new saddle leather and a lovely, lush, heady mouthfeel. Drink now-2017. - Robert Parker" - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate (November 2014), 88 pts
"(85% tempranillo, 10% garnacha and 5% mazuelo; no oak): Inky ruby. Blackberry, cherry compote and fresh flowers on the nose. Lush, open-knit dark berry flavors show good clarity and no rough edges. Supple and seamless in texture, finishing with gentle sweetness and very soft tannins. Extremely easy to drink, with the heft to handle rich or assertively seasoned foods." - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (September/October 2014), 88 pts
"The grapiest and youngest of this trio, the 2012 Tinto is composed of 85% Tempranillo and the rest Garnacha and Mazuelo, aged totally in concrete and stainless steel. It possesses a deep ruby/purple color along with medium body, copious amounts of creme de cassis, licorice and lead pencil shavings and a moderately endowed, supple, intense, richly fruity personality. Drink it over the next 2-3 years."
