2018 Keermont Fleurfontein - 95 PTS - VINOUS

vinous logo"The 2018 Fleurfontein has a lovely bouquet of tangerine, marmalade, honeysuckle and almond aromas that display wonderful intensity. The palate is very well balanced with a viscous texture (very Sauternes-like) and a harmonious custard tart and tangerine finish. Gorgeous! - Neal Martin."

wa"From the first sniff on the nose, you can tell that the 2017 Fleurfontein has that "wow factor." Jumping out of the glass, there are aromas of rich and sticky stone fruits, with an essence of dried pineapple and golden raisin plus an intense floral bouquet. The palate is lusciously sweet with a focus on floral and tropical fruit tones. The finish is long and lively with a fresh, clean dried apricot flavor. Yum! This wine was created by twisting the stems of the bunches over a one- to two-month period, destroying the water and nutrient pathways to the grapes so that they shrivel and dry naturally on the vine. 2,400 bottles were made of this sweet and delicious wine. - Anthony Mueller"

i winereview logo"Light gold. Pure and refined in character, this sweet wine (230 g/L RS) offers a fine, rich perfume that soars from the glass. It shows seductively sweet rich, ripe stone fruit on a creamy palate. Good acidity keeps the wine lively on the finish. This 100% Sauvignon Blanc sweet wine is made by crimping the stem to force dessication, then dried on the vine for 3-4 weeks. It’s aged 18 months in 30-40% new barriques, some of Hungarian origin. 11% alc."

vinous logo"The 2017 Fleurfontein is pure Sauvignon Blanc, vine-dried (whereby the stems are pinched), fermented by indigenous yeast in Hungarian and French oak barrels and left to mature for 18 months in 50% new oak. There is around 230g/L residual sugar. The nose offers attractive acacia honey, fig and quince aromas. The palate is very pure and viscous, featuring plenty of mandarin, tangerine, apricot and fig notes, but crucially, there is a fine bead of acidity that maintains tension and race all the way through to the finish. Excellent. - Neal Martin."

wine enthusiast 93 pts"This sweet wine, whose name means flower fountain, is decadent and rich yet wonderfully balanced and harmonious. Lush aromas of sweet grass, juicy peach, apricot, candied orange peel and orange blossom carry through to the full, slightly sticky palate, which is countered by vibrant acidity that lends nerve to the texture and a bright flourish to the enduring finish. Notes of honey-roasted almond, orange oil and dried peach linger long on the close. - Lauren Buzzeo"

wa94"The 2015 Fleurfontein is 100% Sauvignon Blanc matured in Hungarian oak for 18 months (50% new). It has a seductive bouquet of honey, marmalade and a touch of toffee apple, well defined and ebullient in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with just the right amount of acidity to counterbalance the ripe honeyed fruit, viscous in texture but with plenty of freshness on the finish as it fans out: creme brûlée, Manuka honey and quince. The 2014 was outstanding and so is this. - Neal Martin."
