"Poggio Nardone's 2013 Brunello di Montalcino is a darkly saturated and concentrated wine. That color is set, thanks to alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks and malolactic fermentation in oak barrel. The wine then ages in wood for three years. This is a bright, buoyant and super direct Sangiovese with a very immediate delivery of cherry and blackberry fruit flavors. In the mouth, this is a firm and well-structured wine that could do with another few years of bottle aging. - Monica Larner" - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Issue #235, February 2018), 91 points
"This is earthy and smoky on the nose with plums and berries. Hints of dried fruit and spices. Full body and a fresh core of ripe berries, plums and bark. Some green tea, too. Very long and flavorful. Persistent and beautiful. Drink now or hold."
"This lively red exhibits cherry, strawberry, eucalyptus, tobacco and mineral flavors. The firm tannins work in tandem with the bright acidity, leaving a long, refreshing finish that echoes the fruit, earth and savory elements. Best from 2018 through 2028. 3,800 cases made. — B.S."
