wa"Tasted as a representative tank sample, the 2018 Cotes du Rhone Réserve Grand Veneur looks to be a solid effort. Subtle garrigue notes accent black cherries in this medium to full-bodied wine that's round and supple on the palate and finishes silky and long. - Joe Czerwinski"

Medium-bodied, with a pure, polished, elegant texture and fine tannins, this is another high-quality wine from this fabulous domaine. Looking for a terrific house red? Give this a try."

Medium-bodied, nicely textured, and undeniably delicious, it shows the quality of this great vintage. Drink it over the coming 4-5 years."

wa"The 2016 Cotes du Rhone Reserve Grand Veneur looks to be very good. Tasted as a tank sample, it seems tight and constrained, corseted by acidity into tight-fitting bright cherry flavors. It should relax somewhat over the next few months, allowing the fruit and garrigue notes to properly blossom on the palate. - Joe Czerwinski"

wa300"The 2015 Cotes du Rhone Reserve is a fruity, forward and juicy effort that has lots of classic Southern Rhone meatiness, peppery herbs, lavender and red and black fruits in its charming, medium-bodied personality. It has excellent purity, is balanced, elegant and best drunk over the coming couple of years. - Jeb Dunnuck"

wa88"The 2014 Côtes du Rhône Reserve (60% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 5% Cinsault) doesn't see a hint of oak and is all the better for it. Loads of licorice, back olive tapenade, pepper, grilled herbs, kirsch liqueur and black raspberry notes are all present in this expressive, medium-bodied, elegant, slightly lighter than usual, but still flavorful, tasty Côtes du Rhône. Drink it over the next 1-2 years."

wa300"One of my favorite Côtes du Rhônes that always delivers plenty of character, the 2013 Côtes du Rhône Reserve makes the most of the vintage with its upfront berry fruit, spice and floral aromatic, medium-bodied palate and juicy, yet integrated acidity. A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Cinsault that's raised all in stainless steel, it's not built for the long haul, but will dish out plenty of pleasure over the coming 3-4 years. - Jeb Dunnuck"

2012 Domaine Grand Veneur Cotes du Rhone Rouge Bag-In-Box - Highly Recommended - RWS

rws grand veneur cdr logo 250"The 2012 Alain Jaume & Fils Grand Veneur Cotes du Rhone Reserve presents with a lovely nose that gets even better with air. Aromas of smoked meat and leather when first poured give way to black cherry and wild berry fruit flavors in short order. Nice touches of spice and lavender are present as well. Tasting this smooth and silky blend reveals classic Cotes du Rhone and offers a combination of taste and complexity that I would be more than happy to drink every day. It ends dry and grippy with more dark fruit and even a bit of graphite minerality. Highly recommended!

Wine Advocate 89 Pts"Along the same lines, yet slightly richer, the Alain Jaume 2012 Cotes du Rhone Reserve gives up more dark fruit, graphite and earthy notes to go with a medium-bodied, rich and beautifully textured feel on the palate. It, too, should dish out plenty of pleasure over the coming couple of years and represents a superb value. Drink now-2017. -JD"
