The Candy Babee is a fun take on a seriously good Riesling. The light-skinned Riesling grapes for this wine came exclusively from the Santa Ynez Valley, in Santa Barbara County, located in the larger Central Coast appellation of California. Fun Fact: The movie Sideways turned this area into an overnight tourist attraction.
This Riesling is very, very aromatic with floral and citrus fruits lots of bright orange and apple. A well-balanced acidity, that freshens the residual sugar aspect. The flavors are clean and elegant with honeysuckle throughout. The flavors are also are indicative of stone fruits such as pears, apricots, and super-ripe peaches. The finish is very long and enhanced with a hint of grapefruit and the very end. This is a medium-bodied wine that would certainly tame hot and spicy meal selections.
