Founded in 1932, this Cave Coopérative is located in the top commune of Pomérols, located between the garrigue of Pezenas and the sea dominated by the Mont St Clair in Sete. The co-op merged with the Cave de Castelnau de Guers in 2003 and the Cave of Mèze in 2007. They now include 350 members who have the knowledge and experience to produce an average of 130 000 hl of which 54% whites, 28% rosés and 18% reds.

Jean Louis Atienza, the President and Joël Julien, the Director (who is an agronomist engineer and oenologist), as well as the 350 co-operative members and the 21 staff members all pay particular attention to customers’ needs.

The members control 1,800 hectares of vineyard land (4,448 acres) of which 400 hectares (988 acres) are Picpoul de Pinet. Six communes are entitled to the name Picpoul de Pinet: Florensac, Pomerols, Pinet, Castelnau de Guers, Montagnac, Meze. The Pomerols vineyards stretch over vast sun-light terraces with clay/calcareous soils. The wines are classified half in IGP Pays d’OC (Indication Geographique Protégée) and 20% in AOP (Appellation Origine Protégée) Picpoul de Pinet; the remainder being in IGP Côtes de Thau (mainly rosé).
