Beautiful ruby red color. Pleasing and graceful, this full-bodied Juliénas displays spices and ripe red and black fruit aromas (red currant, blackberry). This well balanced wine shows soft tannins and a long lasting finish. Excellent now, it will show even better after a few years of cellaring.

"Vivid ruby. Aromas of fresh dark berries, licorice, violet and smoky minerals, with a hint of earthiness in the background. Offers appealingly sweet boysenberry and cherry flavors that deepen and pick up a spicy nuance on the back half. Finishes very long and smooth, with rounded tannins adding gentle grip. - Josh Raynolds"

"The 2015 Julienas les Bottieres, which is aged 80% in foudres, has a red plum and cranberry-scented bouquet that is nicely defined. The palate is fresh on the entry, quite lithe in the mouth with supple tannin. I appreciate the purity of fruit here and there is a pleasant sour cherry, almost saline note on the finish. For twenty bucks this is a winner. - Neal Martin"

"The Les Bottieres reveals bright red fruit on the nose and has a silky mouth feel with good flavor concentration, excellent acidity, and a persistent finish. "

"The 2012 Julienas “Les Bottieres” comes from granite and schist soils. It is a small production from the family’s 0.8-hectare holding of 50-year-old vines and it is aged in one wooden foudre. It has an expressive bouquet with floral scents infusing the cranberry and red currant fruit that is well-defined and vivacious. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannins that are impressive for the vintage, with plenty of chewy red berry fruit lining the satisfying finish. Drink now-2019. - Neal Martin "
