- Napa Valley
A terrific Old Vine Zinfandel from a single vineyard and an epic vintage!
A brilliant, dark garnet draws your attention. Aromas of ripe berries, raspberry, boysenberry and mocha are woven with a subtle hint of toasted oak that emerges from the bowl of the glass. Full to medium bodied on the palate, with deep and vibrant flavors of blackberry, plum, black cherry and Asian spice, are deftly countered by creamy, toasty oak components.
The wine was aged in new American oak cooperage to round out the rich fruit flavors, contributing a striking balance, and complexity to this remarkably enjoyable wine. The mouthfeel is silky, and the texture caresses the palate, offering finely integrated tannins. The wonderful, fruity, and long, lively finish is complemented by a delicious wave of toasty oak, and brown spices. Enjoy with your friends and family!
The Gamba Starr Road Ranch Vineyard
Planted in the Russian River Valley on a gently rolling hillside in 1920, the Starr Road Ranch Vineyard, formerly known as the Moratto Vineyard, is organically farmed, consistently producing low yields of the highest quality fruit year after year. We are excited to continue our work with this legendary vineyard site, and share the resulting wines with you.
