Pinotage is a true South African grape variety, Our signature grape smilar to the Blue Crane being our national bird. Indwe Pinotage grapes are meticulously sourced from our grape producers along the Coastal region of the Western Cape ensuring complexity, depth and purity of fruit. The wine is layered with sweet cherry notes, and subtle hints of mocha and vanilla flavors. Seamless tannins make the wine enjoyable now or over the next 2 years.

Harvest: predominantly manual from January 27th until March 7th 2013.

Fermentation: Stainless steel at 26°C for approximately 5 days with frequent pump-overs during first stages of fermentation. Racked and pressed at 5°B. Overnight settling, racked onto oak chips and French staves, and inoculated with MLF bacteria. Racked after MLF & sulphured.
Smoke duck, mediterranean ingredients like peppers and aubergines, Pizza with meaty topping, Indian Curry or spicy barbecue sauces and chilli con carne. (Pinotage goes well with chilli and smoke, similar to Zinfandel). Chacuterie: pates and hard cheeses. Classic South African Braai (barbeque): marinated lamb or cajun-spiced blackened fish.
