Deep purple. Boysenberry and mulberry aromas with a hint of cedar and pepper. Similar berry fruits show through on the opulent, textured palate with a lingering finish.

"Dark black violet color. Aromas and flavors of wet earth, blackberry jam, saddle, and smoked poblano pepper with a slightly chewy, vibrant, dry medium-to-full body and a peppery, refreshing, medium-long lavender, twigs and stems, and dried pomegranate finish with chewy, dusty tannins and moderate oak. "Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2015 Shiraz / Cabernet has baked plums and crème de cassis with nuances of eucalyptus and chocolate box. Medium to full bodied, the palate has plenty of juicy baked berry flavors and a chewy texture, finishing uncomplicated."

"(raised in new and used French and American oak for 13 months): Bright violet color. Spice- and smoke-accented dark berry and cherry aromas pick up a suggestion of pipe tobacco with air. Supple, sweet and densely packed, offering bitter cherry and blackberry flavors and a refreshing jolt of cracked pepper on the back half. Supple tannins give shape to the energetic, spicy finish. - Josh Raynolds"

The three red wines from this producer are all well above average efforts with lots of flavor as well as Australia's so easily obtainable, lush fruit. The 2013 Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon (55% and 45% respectively) exhibits a dark ruby/purple hue along with a layered, peppery, berry fruit-scented nose revealing licorice and meaty notes. From a much lighter vintage, it is a supple, easygoing red to enjoy now and over the next several years. - Robert Parker"

"Vibrant, with juicy plum and herb flavors on a lively frame, gaining breadth and a light grip of tannins as the finish lingers. Drink now through 2016. 5,000 cases made. - HS"

"More interesting, the 2012 Shiraz Cabernet, a blend of 55% Shiraz and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, was aged in a combination of new and used French and American oak barrels. It offers notes of mint, pepper, spice and blackberries in a rich, medium to full-bodied, silky textured, plump, juicy style. Enjoy it over the next 1-2 years."

The 2012 Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon (55% Shiraz and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon) is slightly richer than the 2013, revealing slightly more body and opulence as well as a similar bouquet of blackberries, licorice and hints of spring flowers as well as spicy wood. Nicely textured, lush and slightly longer than the 2013, it can be drunk over the next several years. - Robert Parker"

"Vivid ruby. Musky, smoke-accented aromas of dark berries and cherry compote. Juicy and sharply focused, offering bitter cherry and cassis flavors and a hint of dark chocolate. Dusty tannins add a firm edge to the finish, which lingers with good, spicy persistence. - Josh Raynolds"
