This white Rioja from one of the regions most enduring family run wineries is produced from hillside vineyards sheltered by the Sierra Cantabria Mountains to the north from harsh weather extremes. Small plot production is utilized in this region of infertile chalky clay soil to produce clusters of excellent quality. Almost 900 plots are needed to complete the approximately 400 hectares of estate-owned or cellar-controlled vineyards, some with vines more than 100 years in age. The average age of the vines is 40 years.
A beautiful golden yellow color with bright green-tinted reflections. In the nose, white fruit (pear, apple) and
tropical fruit aromas dominate with some hints of bush and fig tree leaves. In the mouth it is fresh, elegant and smooth but well structured. Tasty and aromatic with easy entry into the mouth. The palate delivers dry, crisp acidity that gives this wine freshness, vivacity, and a structured ripe fruit finish.
