Mordoree Tavel Rose La Dame Rousse
Domaine de la Mordoree
France - Rhone Valley - Tavel AOC

Mordoree's Tavel Rose La Dame Rousse is produced from organically and biodynamically grown vineyards, and is a beautiful blend of three terroirs: galets roules (cobblestones), flat white limestones and sandy soils.

A lovely color and fruity aromas of strawberry, cherry, redcurrant, pink grapefruit and tangerine combine with floral scents and rose fragrance. Fresh, round and smooth in the mouth.

"Pale watermelon in color, this wine is composed of 60% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 15% Syrah and 10% Clairette. It has a focused nose of ripe watermelon, cherry skin, blueberry, violets and wild herbs. While the wine has plenty of structure for additional cellaring, enjoy it now with a creamy goat cheese."

wa91"The 2022 Tavel La Dame Rousse is on the lighter-hued side for Tavel, but it is still a full-bodied, full-flavored effort. A blend of 60% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 15% Syrah and 10% Clairette, it offers up scents of crushed stone, alpine strawberries, watermelon and a touch of garrigue on the nose, while being pleasantly expansive and rich in the mouth, with a lingering, gently persistent finish. - Joe Czerwinski"

"Deeply concentrated and penetrating with blackberry and black cherry flavors, this pale ruby rosé offers the zesty fruit character that rosé lovers demand alongside an intensity and structure craved by red wine drinkers. A touch more spry than the producer's more richly concentrated La Reine des Bois, it's a delicately spiced, pepper-edged rosé that can be enjoyed year-round. Anna LEE C. IIJIMA"

Crisp finish with a touch of tannin giving it drive. A blend dominated by grenache and syrah. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink now.”

Densely packed and energetic in the mouth, offering juicy red currant, cherry, blood orange and candied rose flavors that turn sweeter through the back half. The mineral and floral notes repeat on the lively, penetrating finish, which hangs on with serious tenacity. - Josh Raynolds"

It’s densely flavored and packed with sweet fruit that builds on the finish. This is the wine to pair with barbecued ribs served with a sweet-spicy sauce. A blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, and 20% Syrah from the Domaine’s vineyards on the Vallongue plateau.”

Black fruit flavors are intensely ripe and penetrating, accented by shavings of black pepper and a firm, fine-grained grip of tannins. This solidly structured, thrilling wine should improve through 2023. - ANNA LEE C. IIJIMA”

jeb dunnuck logo 250"The base Tavel is the 2018 Tavel La Dame Rousse, which slightly lighter colored than the Reine Des Bois, with notes of ripe cherries, white flowers, peach, and honeysuckle. Elegant, seamless, and beautifully balanced, it doesn't have the power of the top cuvée yet has integrated acidity and a great finish. Rosé doesn’t get much better."

i winereview logo"Medium pink rose. Made from 40 year old vines cultivated biodynamically, this is classic Tavel with alluring scents of red cherry skin and ripe, sun-drenched raspberry. A crisp attack introduces the medium weight palate with lovely, fresh dark red plum and berries complemented by spice and savory notes. Finishes very long. A blend of 60% Grenache, 10% Cinsuat, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre, 5% Clairette, and 5% Bourboulenc. Consistently one of our favorite Tavels.”

wine and spirits logo 250"Textbook Tavel, this is a meaty, generously flavored rosé with lots of stony mineral flavor to support the red fruit. Based on grenache from 40-year-old vines and blended with a host of local varieties, the wine seems to grow in size and complexity with air, herbal notes and grapefruit acidity adding lift and freshness. It’s hearty enough to pair with seafood sausages; delicate enough to drink on its own."
