"The 2012 Tavel Rose la Reine des Bois is a knockout blend of 60% Grenache, 15% Clairette, 10% Syrah, 10% Cinsault and 5% Bourboulenc. It’s the deepest in color of the rose lineup and dishes out brilliant aromas and flavors of strawberry, rose petal, red currants and mineral to go with a rich, full-flavored profile on the palate. Despite all of the texture here, it never seems heavy and has gorgeous acidity that focuses the finish nicely. While I think most roses should be consumed in the first year after the vintage, the Tavels from this estate have the ability to actually improve with a year in bottle and drink nicely for 2-3 years. Drink now-2016. .- JD"
