2012 Mt. Crawford Pinot Grigio

Producer: Thorn Clarke
Country/Region: Australia - South Australia - Eden Valley

The 2012 vintage was preceded by a cool summer and above average rainfall during the winter months. Excellent picking conditions for the Mount Crawford white wines produced fine and delicate flavours typical of the Eden Valley.

The 2012 Pinot Grigio has a lifted pear aroma with subtle spice overtones. The rich palate is medium bodied with excellent texture, ripe pear and spice flavors.

Wine Making Notes: The fruit was harvested at night when the winemakers felt the flavours were right. The juice was gently extracted from the fruit to minimise colour pick up (the fruit is a dark pink/grey colour). Cool fermentation was carried out in stainless steel to retain fruit characters. Extended time on lees add to the texture of the wine.

The winemaker recommends enjoying this with spicy prawn, basil and bok choy stir fry.
