Straw-like yellow color with fresh green tones.
Hugely aromatic, with tropical fruit, tangerine, lemongrass and lemon thyme. Fruity notes with anise and minerals, typical of the Verdejo grape. Full in the mouth, well structured, dense and persistent with a lingering aftertaste. The wine has great length and a delicious mouth-filling richness, and finished with a precise acid cut.

"Bornos produces a reliably delicious verdejo, with ripe peach and apricot flavors. This is great as an aperitif with light appetizers, but also with sandwiches or seafood. Most of this wine was sold to Total Wine & More. ABV: 13 percent. - Dave McIntyre"

"This Verdejo is pungent and angular on the nose, with pyrazinic aromas of green citrus, sweat and cactus that are common to the variety and Rueda. An oily, grabby palate is cut by firm acidity, while flavors of tangerine, nopal and bell pepper finish short despite lively acidity."

"Bright yellow. Aromas of ripe orange and melon pick up chalky mineral and floral accents in the glass. Supple and expansive on the palate, offering plush orchard and pit fruit flavors and a bracing jolt of bitter citrus pith. Appealingly fruity and concentrated, delivering solid closing thrust and lingering honeysuckle and mineral notes. - Josh Raynolds"

"Greenish straw. High-pitched lemon pith, peach and orange zest scents, with a subtle touch of white flowers in the background. Nervy and incisive on the palate, offering bitter citrus zest and pear skin flavors that put on weight and pick up a pit fruit nuance with air. The firm, racy finish shows good clarity and lingering floral and citrus fruit qualities. - Josh Raynolds"

"Nettle, jalapeño, lettuce leaf and citrus aromas feed into a juicy palate with plenty of acidic cut. Arugula, bell pepper and lime flavors finish crisp, fresh and clean but with little to no evolution off the palate."

"Light straw. Mineral-laced aromas of lime, grapefruit, quinine and anise, with a hint of jasmine in the background. Tangy citrus and orchard fruit flavors show good depth of flavor while remaining light and brisk. Focused, racy and taut on the finish, with the lime note echoing."

"Verdejo makes a fruity yet refreshing wine, similar to sauvignon blanc in weight and style but lacking the aggression. This example has ripe peach and apricot flavors with a hint of summer herbs. ABV: 13.5 percent - Dave McIntyre"

"The cooler climate of Rueda makes for a Verdejo that’s more Sauvignon Blanc like than that from La Mancha. It is richly aromatic, showing passion fruit and citrus that carry over to the soft, full palate with a touch of lanolin. The Sanz family, owners of the Bodegas de Crianza de Castilla Vieja, which produces Palacio de Bornos, has been making wine in Rueda for almost 150 years. The manager and winemaker at the winery is Antonio Sanz. The winery has 100 ha of mostly Verdejo vineyards and sells about 2 million liters of wine annually."

"Bright straw. Floral-accented aromas of pear and nectarine, with a hint of lemon pith in the background. Dry and tangy on entry, then fleshier in the mid-palate, displaying juicy pit fruit and melon flavors and a touch of bitter pear skin. Finishes with good grip and length, leaving a spicy note behind."

"Pale straw-gold hue; tremendously seductive bouquet of jasmine and lilac, tangerine and lime peel, lemon verbena, with backnotes of licorice and limestone; pulls up an herbal, slightly grassy character on the palate, with pert citrus flavors and notably crisp acidity and flint-like minerality, all ensconced in a moderately lush texture. Excellent. A Great Bargain."
