Origin: United States
100% Petit Verdot. Known primarily as a blending grape in Bordeaux’s left bank. Its ability to grown and mature in Virginia makes it one of the States finest varietals.
Vintage Notes: A cool summer and early fall allowed a longer ripening season, helping benefit this years PV, as it is often the last of the ‘Bordeaux Varietals” to ripen. This resulted in a slightly sweeter than normal representation of the Varietal.
Tasting Notes: Hints of black raspberries, cassis, earthy wood, and spice on the nose. Big flavors of jammy fruit with nutmeg, anise, cinnamon, and caraway can be found, rounded out by the tannins, giving it a hearty mouth feel and long finish.
This wine brims with aromas of glove leather, fig jam, currants and vanilla beans. The garnet extraction is intense with a unique bouquet and flavor.
