69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 6% Malbec
18 months in French oak barrels (40% new)
65-70 degrees Farenheit°F
This estate grown wine is an artful blend of the five classic Bordeaux varieties: 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 6% Malbec. Cabernet Sauvignon forms the base structure and Merlot contributes abundant fruit flavors and supple texture. The Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot add depth, color and spice.. We harvested the grapes from select blocks on three Trione ranches in Alexander Valley, a Sonoma County appellation renowned for these red varieties.
We fermented each variety separately in small, open top vessels. We used a unique irrigation device that circulated free-run juice over the cap during the peak of fermentation, gently allowing optimum flavor extraction. The wine aged in French oak barrels (45% new) for eighteen months from coopers Taransaud, Vicard and TW Boswell.
