100-acre Farm's soil is Robertson Shale with a 4.4 pH which is quite acid and good for certain plants.
We use 2 types of bees:
• Italian - calmer tough consistent bee, pulls honey early, then more laid back late summer/early fall. Most common bee for keepers.
• Russian - slow to start bee and smaller. Pulls honey well into the fall. Consistent and aggressive once it starts.
