Christina is a native Austrian who first fell in love with the wines from her homeland—from the more well-known Grüner Veltliner to Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch. Her former job in the airline industry also enabled her to travel and visit many different wine regions all over the world. After 17 years working as a flight attendant for Austrian Airlines, she followed her interest in wine and made the transition to the industry.
Prior to joining Kysela Pere et Fils, Ltd., Christina worked as a wine consultant at Calvert Woodley Wine & Spirits in Washington, DC. She is close to completing her diploma in wine and spirits through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). In addition, she is studying for her certified sommelier exam from the Court of Master Sommeliers. Christina also holds a Bachelor's of Arts degree in business management from Hochschule Mittweida (Germany).
Christina is food lover and cook. When she is off work she can be found at the farmers' markets in DC, and in the kitchen trying out new recipes. Christina and her husband are also active home brewers and enjoy old-world styles, such as Schwartzbier, Kölsch and Pils.
