Domaines Pierre Chavin
France - Bordeaux

Domaine Pierre Chavin was founded in 2010 and is owned by Fabien Gross & Mathilde Boulachin. The winery combines the talents of Fabien, a gifted winemaker, and Mathilde, a wine marketing specialist. Located in the South of France, the domaine links their Alsace & Champagne traditions.

Fabien comes from a wine producing family in Alsace, near Colmar, and learned wine growing from his grandfather. After earning degrees in Oenology, Agronomy & International Wine & Spirit sales, Fabien interned with J Hennessy & Co, then worked as a wine buyer for Les Grands Chais de France. He traveled throughout Australia, California, South Africa and South America, where he gained influence for his own winemaking style. In his constant search for more knowledge, Fabien is studying in London for the Master of Wine qualification. In addition to serving as Pierre Chavin’s winemaker, Fabien also manages the commercial operations.

Mathilde grew up in Champagne-Ardenne. Through her travels she became fluent in French, English, Spanish & Swedish. Holding numerous degrees and certifications in marketing, international commerce and wine & spirit sales, she serves as the winery’s international brand ambassador, as well as managing finances & marketing.

The winery’s name comes from the common French name ‘Pierre’, meaning stone, a reference to the terroir. Chavin is a fashion industry term, signaling the essence of the winery.

Pierre Chavin produces Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Grenache & Syrah.
