Horan Shuzo was founded in 1881 by Mr. Wakimura. It is located in the town of Takakuotsu (10 miles north of Otawarachi and 5 miles north of Nasushiobara) in the Tochigi Prefecture. Their sake is marketed in Japan under the name ‘Fenran’, based on ‘Feng Lan’, a fictitious bird god.
