Kutjevo
Croatia - Slavonia and Danube

A Croatian Wine Heritage Since 1232.

With almost 800 years of winemaking tradition, Kutjevo is one of Croatia’s historic wine estates. Its story began in 1232, when Cistercian monks established a monastery and cultivated the first vineyards in the Kutjevo valley.

Kutjevo is nestled in the heart of Slavonia, between the Papuk and Krndija mountains, where a favourable combination of sunshine, air circulation and soils creates ideal conditions for quality wines. Kutjevo is particularly renowned for Graševina, one of Croatia’s emblematic white grape varieties.

At the heart of the estate lies its historic cellar, connecting centuries of winemaking heritage with a modern approach to viticulture and wine production.
Eight centuries of history, rooted in one exceptional terroir.

The Terroir - Where Continental Croatia Reveals Its Character.
The vineyards extend across the southern slopes of the surrounding hills, enjoying generous sunlight while benefiting from natural air circulation. The interplay between warm days and cooler nights allows the grapes to ripen slowly and retain their freshness, aromatic intensity and natural balance.

The region’s diverse soils, together with its topography and climate, give the wines a distinctive sense of place. This is particularly evident in Graševina, Kutjevo’s signature variety, which expresses itself here with remarkable freshness, finesse and aromatic precision.

It is this harmony between climate, soils, elevation and human expertise that defines the Kutjevo style: elegant, vibrant wines with a clear expression of their Croatian origin.
