Fullerton Tenebris Pinot Noir
Fullerton Wines
United States - Oregon - Willamette Valley

Garnet red in the glass. The nose is full of red cherry, raspberry, and black currant, backed by rose pedal, cinnamon, clove, porcini, toasted vanilla, rosemary blossom and thyme. Ripe strawberry, sour cherry, and damson plum, give way to an airy, and velvety texture reigned in by a firm acidic backbone. The long finish is full of floral character, backed by sweet earth and loads more spice.

Vinification
In Tenebris we strive to showcase the pinnacle of the vintage. The 2021 Tenebris is a selection of three barrels and one puncheon from three vineyards, Bella Vida, Bjornson, and Momtazi. It is from 100% volcanic soils; 43% new puncheon (equivalent to about 25% new oak), 38% third fill, and 19% neutral. A new Puncheon of Bella Vida brings plush red fruit, high-pitched aromatics, and velvety texture. Two barrels of Bjornson, from two different blocks, lend the wine deep fruit, floral notes, length, and spice. Finally a barrel of Momtazi lifts the whole blend with its bright acidity and structured backbone, adding intensity to the fruit and complex, earthy notes. Together these barrels leave a sense of exactly what the 2021 vintage is like in

james suckling hq logo plain"A barrel selection of the best of vintage, this has impressive concentration at its core. The nose has cedary oak and spice across ripe dark cherries and blueberries. There’s a lot of depth to the palate, fresh ripe red and dark cherries abound here. 120 dozen made. Fine now, but better from 2025."

owen bargreen logo"The 2018 ‘Tenebris’ is a barrel selection wine that utilizes clonal selections 113, 114, 667, 777, Pommard and Wadenswil. This is quite simply a gorgeous effort that really needs an hour of air to show its stuff. Once aroused this yields a gorgeous array of bright red fruits with blood orange zest, summer sausage and peat moss aromas that brilliantly combine. The weight and richness of the wine is apparent, as linzer torte notes mingle well with smoky minerals, damp earth and orange blossom flavors. Fresh and full-bodied, this excellent effort will live on for another fifteen years to come. Drink 2022-2037"
