Juan and Mariana Pelizzatti
Setriolo is the name of a location in Castellina in Chianti on the Carfini river where an old water mill was established in ancient times. The name comes from Roman origins indicating the land belonging to Setrius family.
With more than 20 years of winemaking experience in Argentina, the Pelizzatti’s bring a wealth of knowledge and a deep respect for the craft to their work in Chianti Classico. Their goal is to create wines of exceptional quality that reflect both their passion for winemaking and their connection to the land, while sharing the sense of joy, harmony, and discovery that first inspired them to make wine in the region.
At Setriolo, quality begins in the vineyard. Careful stewardship, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to traditional winemaking guide every stage of production. The Pelizzatti’s believe that the finest wines emerge from a harmonious relationship between people, vines, and place.
Through thoughtful farming and a deep respect for Chianti Classico’s cultural and viticultural heritage, Setriolo seeks to produce wines of elegance, authenticity, and character—wines that capture the timeless spirit of the appellation and are meant to be shared around the table.
