"Named after the Basque word for “made by hand,” the 2022 Landua comes from a mix of different nearby villages, all close to the mountains with influence from the Atlantic Ocean. Mostly Tempranillo, in the old-vine vineyards planted between 50 and 80 years ago there’s also Graciano, Garnacha, a few white varieties, and some unknown varieties that all go into the final bottle. Red fruit-forward, it is drinkable upon release, fermented in French oak foudres, with very soft, textured, and layered red fruit, graphite, a touch of herb, and an undeniably ethereal quality. It’s a pretty wine that should age well 10-12 years. - Virginie BOONE"

"Part of an exciting new project from Ribera del Duero winery Pago de Carraovejas, Landua is a blend of Tempranillo with a little inter-planted Graciano, Garnacha and white grapes, all made with grapes from Leza and San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Structured, glossy and smoothly oaked, it has layers of mocha, dark chocolate and blackberry and plenty of backbone and acidity. 2025-30."
