2011 Buty Merlot Cabernet Franc Conner Lee Vineyard Columbia Valley - 91 PTS - VINOUS

vinous logo 250"(13.9% alcohol; a 67/33 blend of merlot and cabernet franc): Bright, full medium red. Complex aromas of musky red berries, plum, truffle, game, smoke, flint and leather, with some enticing high notes of flowers and spice providing lift. Concentrated and juicy, with an almost glyceral texture but an uncanny light touch to the flavors of red berries and spices. Very complex and subtle Washington blend. Finishes long and smooth, with savory red fruit and cinnamon flavors, a captivating hint of rose petal, and fine-grained, ripe tannins. - Stephen Tanzer"

2011 Buty Merlot Cabernet Franc Conner Lee Vineyard Columbia Valley - 91 PTS - WA

wa91"The 2011 Merlot Cabernet Franc Conner Lee Vineyard (labeled simply “Conner Lee Vineyard”) is a blend of 67% Merlot and 33% Cabernet Franc that spent 15 months in one-third new French oak. Semi-opaque purple in color, it offers up an energetic profile with blackberry, tobacco, underbrush, pepper and floral nuances leading to a medium-bodied, elegant and deftly textured palate that has juicy acidity, good balance and a clean finish. Vibrant and perfumed, it is already approachable and delicious, yet should continue to impress for 7-8 years, possibly upwards of a decade. Drink now-2020. - Jeb Dunnuck"

2012 Buty Merlot Cabernet Franc Conner Lee Vineyard Columbia Valley - 92 PTS - VINOUS

vinous logo 250"(a 63/37 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc): Bright ruby-red. Lively aromas of redcurrant, coffee and mocha. Sweet, smooth and suave on the palate, but currently showing a medicinal reserve to the red berry and sexy oak flavors. Subtle floral lift contributes to the wine’s appeal. Not a monster of concentration but quite seamless and long, with sweet tannins and a repeating floral note. I’d expect this beauty to put on weight with time in the cellar. Two thousand twelve is the first vintage made by new winemaker Chris Dowsett from start to finish. - Stephen Tanzer"
