2017 Kershaw Syrah Lake District Cartref SH22 - 93 PTS - VINOUS

vinous logo"The 2017 Kershaw Deconstructed Lake District Cartref SH22, matured 50% in new oak for 17 months, is a little more open on the nose compared to the SH9c and delivers a touch more red berry fruit, quite candied in style and suggesting strawberry pastilles. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline entry, fine definition and a mélange of red and black fruit laced with licorice toward the poised finish. Excellent.- Neal Martin"

2018 Kershaw Syrah Lake District Cartref SH22 - 96 PTS - TA

tim atkin logo 250"This "deconstructed" Syrah hails from the same vineyard as the SH9C bottling, but is made with the more structured SH22 clone. Meaty, serious and grippy, it has more evident oak influence, wood smoke, meat and fynbos notes, some tannic grip and the concentration to age. 2022-29"

2018 Kershaw Syrah Lake District Cartref SH22 - 96 PTS - VINOUS

vinous logo"The 2018 Syrah Deconstructed Lake District Cartref SH22 has a floral bouquet of black fruit infused with iris and violet petal, all magnificently defined. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and vibrant, with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity and a harmonious finish that is intense yet paradoxically understated. The sapid nature of this Syrah makes you immediately return for another sip. Wonderful. - Neal Martin"
