2015 Le Clos des Cazaux Vacqueyras Cuvee Grenat Noble - 93 PTS - VINOUS

vinous logo"(raised in a combination of 80% concrete tanks and 20% 300-liter oak barrels, a quarter of them new) Bright ruby. Spice-accented aromas of black raspberry and cherry liqueur are complemented by sexy floral and smoky mineral overtones. Sweet and expansive in the mouth, offering juicy red and blue fruit flavors complicated by hints of allspice and candied licorice. Silky and energetic in character, delivering firm finishing thrust, slow-building tannins and strong, mineral-dominated persistence. -Josh Raynolds"

2018 Le Clos des Cazaux Vacqueyras Cuvee Grenat Noble - 90-92 PTS - JD

jeb dunnuck logo 250"Not yet bottled, the purple-hued 2018 Vacqueyras Grenat Noble comes mostly from very old vine Grenache and is raised in tank. It’s a medium to full-bodied, incredibly Provençal red that has classic black cherry fruit as well as notes of garrigue, violets, and peppery spice. My money is on it being an outstanding wine."

2020 Le Clos des Cazaux Vacqueyras Cuvee Grenat Noble - 91-93 PTS - JD

jeb dunnuck logo 250"Not yet bottled, the 2020 Vacqueyras Grenat Noble should also be outstanding. Based mostly on Grenache, but with a small amount of Mourvèdre, it has a Provençal bouquet of red and black fruits, dried garrigue, toasted nuts, and spice. Rich, medium-bodied, and nicely textured, with a great finish, I'd be thrilled to have a bottle on the dinner table. It will keep through 2032."
