"Slightly deeper hued, the 2023 Meursault Les Vireuils was aged 12 months in 20% new oak and is stunning stuff, boasting sensational notes of ripe stone fruits, orange blossom, spicy wood, almond paste, and honeysuckle-like nuances, with remarkable minerality developing with air. It's a rich, medium to full-bodied Meursault offering ample fat and richness, good acidity, beautiful overall balance, and a great finish. While it comes from a cooler lieu-dit, it's nevertheless the richest and most glycerin-infused of the trio of Meursaults, while at the same time staying beautifully balanced and light on its feet, with a terrific sense of chalky minerality emerging with time in the glass. Drink 2025-2035."
