2017 Clos Solene Harmonie Red - 93 PTS - WA

wa93"The 2017 Harmonie is a blend of 67% Grenache, 18% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah aged mostly in old puncheons. It has a medium ruby color and opens with lovely, concentrated dried cranberries and red cherries, raspberry preserves, strawberry jam and blueberry coulis scents with accents of dried tobacco leaves, pink peppercorn, blood orange and dried flowers with a mineral streak. Medium-bodied, it has a silky-smooth texture and wonderful layering of amaro and earth-tinged fruits, with pixelated tannins and just enough juicy freshness to lift the finish. - Erin BROOKS"

2017 Clos Solene Harmonie Red - 94 PTS - VINOUS

vinous logo"Glistening ruby-red. Highly perfumed aromas of ripe red berries take on a suave floral element and a spicy nuance as the wine opens up. Shows superb energy and definition in the mouth, offering sweet raspberry, cherry and lavender pastille flavors that show impressive depth and no rough edges. Firms up on the finish, picking up deeper licorice and bitter chocolate notes and fine-grained, mounting tannins. Made with 30% whole clusters and raised in neutral French oak barrels. - Josh Raynolds"

2017 Clos Solene Harmonie Red - 97 PTS - JD

jeb dunnuck logo 250"The 2017 Harmonie (67% Grenache, 18% Mourvèdre, and 15% Syrah) is beautiful and certainly makes the most of the vintage. Black cherries, red currants, cedary spice, dried herbs, and floral notes all flow to a medium to full-bodied blend that has flawless balance, ultra-fine tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. It can be drunk today or cellared for over a decade."

2018 Clos Solene Harmonie Red - 95 PTS - JD

jeb dunnuck logo 250"The Grenache-dominated cuvée is the 2018 Harmonie, which is 70% Grenache, 16% Syrah, and 14% Mourvèdre. It's a big wine, yet it shows a fresher, beautifully vibrant nose of black raspberries, licorice, candied flowers, and spice that opens up beautifully with time in the glass. Brought up mostly in neutral barrel, it still has a kiss of background oak in its aromas and texture and is beautifully balanced, full-bodied, and elegant on the palate. It's a well put together Grenache that reminds me slightly of a more modern styled Châteauneuf du Pape. Drink it over the coming decade or so."
