2021 Aiurri Rioja Alavesa Aiurri - 92 PTS - JS

james suckling hq logo plain"Dark chocolate, dried herbs and black cherries with plenty of fine-grained, chalky tannins. I love the austere aspect, which is more reactive and tense. Nothing floppy here, for sure. Quite long. Drink from 2025. - Zekun Shuai (Senior Editor)"

2021 Aiurri Rioja Alavesa Aiurri - 94 PTS - TA

tim atkin logo 250"A superb first release from Ribera del Duero-based Pago de Carraovejas, Aiurri is effectively a village wine from Leza, using grapes from seven parcels in the village. Structured, layered and refreshing, it's an organically farmed field blend of Tempranillo with small amounts of red and white grapes. Chalky, mineral and pure, with blood orange and blackberry fruit and scented oak. 2025-32."

2022 Aiurri Rioja Alavesa Aiurri - 94 PTS - JD

jeb dunnuck logo 250"From calcareous soils, the 2022 Aiurri is deep and dark in color, mostly Tempranillo, though the vineyard also has Graciano, Garnacha, white varieties, and some unknown varieties that end up in the final product. It has a powerful entry of firm tannin, graphite, tobacco, and dried-herb, all full-bodied intensity and sinewy texture. French oak of different sizes was used for aging 16 months, with a portion set aside 18 months in concrete amphorae. Drinking window 2030-2042."
